Well, it appears as though the first bake day was a success! I toiled in my apartment-turned-bakery from the bright-and-early time of 5:30am (ok, so maybe it was still dim) until approximately 12:30 (with time to go to the doctors for an appointment in the middle!). And finished all 15 bread orders in time to bring them to our 1:30 class. Never walked around a school carrying 15 aromatic loaves of freshly baked bread before - or seen anyone else do that, for that matter. I drew some stares - I'm counting that as awareness raising for our trip :)
I say the day was a success not only because I finished all 15 orders, but also because I have 34 orders to fill for bake day number two. All in my little kitchen oven. Now THAT will be a challenge! Looking forward to it though.
Unfortunately, I cannot really describe how amazing a little apartment full of rising and baking bread smells . . . but if you can recall the last visit you made to a local bakery you'll get the idea.
Thanks for your continued interest, support, and prayers!
I want the big fat one on the left.
ReplyDeleteYou could try a cookie day, too! Sell 6, 12 or 24.
